Help Us Achieve the President’s Climate Commitment Goals Through Carpooling

In 2008, TCNJ President R. Barbara Gitenstein signed the American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment which, among other things, commits the College to reducing its greenhouse house gas emissions (GHG). The President has created a committee of faculty, students and staff called the Presidents Climate Commitment Committee (PC3) to to meet the goals of the climate commitment and to foster sustainability on campus. One of the major components of the College’s GHG emissions is caused by transportation to and from campus. PC3 has instituted a carpooling program with a goal to reduce the GHG emissions resulting from faculty, student and staff commuting to the campus. PC3 has created an interactive platform for students, faculty and staff to organize carpools in the local community via an application called ICarpool. The ICarpool program will provide faculty, students and staff with the opportunity to find members of the campus community with similar commutes, allowing them to connect and arrange for car pools. This service is free and open to all members of the TCNJ community. For more information, please visit the following website and create an account: https://tcnj.icarpool.com/en/Login.aspx or contact PC3 at climate@tcnj.edu.
